-This is a daily quest- if you don't get the egg then you can always come back tomorrow to have another shot Step 1 activating the quest 1.Talk to Professor Quantum in Ilex Forest to begin the quest  2.Collect shards in Ilex Forest This is done by having battles in the water near the shrine. You can obtain one shard each day and need 10 shards to get the shrine to open. Talk to Quantum after collecting all the shards and he will tell you to come back tomorrow. Step 2 preparing for the quest -Make SURE to bring STRONG pokemon as you CANNOT use items in the ruins of time. You CANNOT heal your pokemon via "items" button in battle/ nor from the bag when inside the ruins.  However there are some ways around this: You can use leftovers/shell bell/black sludge or status condition heal berries (eg: Lum berry) for healing [as a held item]      After waiting one day, go back to the Ilex Forest and talk to professor Quantum  Follow professor Quantum into the shrine (interact with shrine) Now you have entered the ruins of time  -Enter the doorway and talk to professor Quantum inside.  -If you accept the challenge you will not be able to leave to heal your pokemon nor use items in the ruins of time. The only way to leave is to complete or fail the challenge Step 3 Completing the quest  -Enter the first portal that professor Quantum opens up for you -You will either have to fight: Lt Surge/Bugsy/Brycen Misty/Whitney/Skyla Giovanni/Clair/Lenora (the hardest trio) -Pokemon level 75 for all three fights (levels will be 76 in a party) -Complete the challenge and proceed to complete the other 2 challenges. There will be fights from the past,present and future.
